We are going to India!

Our church, St. Theresa of the Little Flower, offered a tour of India.  Mark and I both thought this would be a wonderful adventure and we signed up!  It was so exciting to think we were really going to go half way around the world! For one day shy of three weeks!  We signed up in March and researched all the things we were going to see and do. Well, Mark mainly looked every thing up and told me about it.  Lon did not go with us. He learned how to deal with living with someone other than us for a short time.  He was not as excited about it as we were.
Our trip started on September 7, 2017.  We booked our airplane tickets to get in a day earlier than everyone else so we could be ready for the tour.

We had burgers at the Charleston Airport. We knew we would not get them in India!

Leaving Charleston!

This was really happening!

A little less than two hours and we were in Newark.

Newark Airport

We tried to connect to the Internet to talk to Lon but we could not at the airport.   We did connect from a restaurant in the airport. They had an ipad with Internet, but it was also how you ordered your food.

Waiting at the gate.

We had to show our Visas before we got on the plane.

Our flight path. This was our seat
entainment.  After take off we could watch movies or tv or play games.

They did have Internet available, and a power plug. The power plug on this flight did not work well. I did have a battery charger with me that worked. I was able to text to Lon from the plane. That was pretty cool!

14 hours to Delhi!

Our seat mate, the man who had the aisle was not the nicest man. He refused to get up to let me out and made me climb over him. It was uncomfortable.  When Mark wanted to get out, he moved to the aisle.

Mark found this infographic about our flight to India. It is pretty cool !

We landed in Delhi at about 10pm.  Mark changed some money so we would have some Rupees.  It was not the best exchange rate, but we did not see an ATM, but once we got out of the secure area, there it was.  The learning curve is steep!

Our Easy tour driver and guide getting us to the hotel.

Since it was midnight on a Friday, (we lost a day in transit) traffic was light.  To me, it seemed rather busy.

A midnight snack at the hotel before we went to sleep!

The hotel was gorgeous.  Even late at night the service was amazing!
