Backwaters of Kerala Cruise

September 19 to 20, 2017, Tuesday and Wednesday

After a tour of Kochi we made it to the boats at Alleppey. It was about an hour and a half bus ride

Road side markets

Random street scenes

Road side goat

Our boats, former rice boats

we all could not fit on one boat, we were broken into groups.

The boats were comfortable.  We had private bedrooms.

The view as we were just on board

The palm trees are so pretty

Lunch on board.  The fish was good.  Except it was too spicy for me. Mark got a second helping of fish.  This was freshly caught fish from the backwaters.

Long boats.. We got into a boat similar for a ride through the smaller paddies

birds on shore

There will be some scenery shots coming up

The water was high, so we had to duck under the bridge.

There are no alligators or crocodiles in the water, but there are snakes. We did not see any snakes.

Giving little brother fishing lessons

tied up for the night

Dog. He came up to the boat to pose for pictures and perhaps a treat.

Dinner on board. Sadly this was also too spicy for me.   I had a couple cookies in my bag.

Tied up to a berm

Good Morning!

The chef.  It was well prepared, even if I could not eat it

Gliding back into the slip.

Our overnight on the boats was wonderful and relaxing.
It was a wonderful break.
